Data Collection
We will host an online survey that will be given to students before we begin our project and after we complete it. The bottle refill stations will also demonstrate how many water bottles we saved, once people begin to refill their reusable bottles.
Project Success Indicators:
Project Success Indicators:
- We will know our project is successful based on whether or not there is an increase in student awareness and participation in recycling around campus.
- Performance indicators (think surveys, observations, number of people served through services) The data that will be presented toward the end will show us the difference that was made from when we first began. When we start we have a beginning number of water bottles (ask janitors/ custodians) then create another count that we will use as a comparison. Student access to website and social media presence will also demonstrate student participation.
- Student assembly and workshop attendance will also be a measure of students educated by our efforts.
- The inclusion of the community including families, district schools, and district office/policies that reflect our movement for change.
- We will conduct a pre- and post-survey to track qualitative and quantitative data.
- We will be sharing our progress of recycling awareness through our website, and social media channels like “olyscrushinit” on Instagram,
- We will first ask students, Do you recycle at your home? and, What do you do with empty water bottles at school? After our school is well aware of our recycling awareness mission, we will then ask the same questions and compare the responses from before and after our conducted survey.
